The goals of Virginia STEM are to:
The Science Museum of Virginia is the state’s flagship institution for informal STEM learning, with a mission to inspire Virginians to enrich their lives through science. Opening in 1977, the Museum has enjoyed more than 40 years as a community gathering place, a leader in informal learning practices and a resource for STEM education.
The Museum hosts the Virginia’s STEM coordinator. This role was created to promote and coordinate STEM initiatives across Virginia. Virginia’s STEM coordinator will work with a broad array of partners across various sectors to strengthen Virginia’s learning landscape and promote STEM-related careers. By inspiring youth to pursue their passion in STEM fields, the state’s position as a leader in innovation will be enhanced and our workforce better prepared for the jobs of the future.
Celebrate Virginia's outstanding scientists and innovators.
